Here is the worst bit about any site. The part about the author, and everything that he or she has accomplished. Well, I don't know if I have much of that, but here is an explanation of why I have an interest in World War II. First of all, I suppose an introduction is in order. My name is AJ Kadidal, or in full, Akhil Joachim Kadidal. As for my residence, it has changed over the years, but at the present it can be called Stephenville, Texas — a little, minsicule town in the middle of nowhere. A minor, trivial town may be a strange place to foster an interest in World War II, and it didn't. Instead, it began one hot summer in the children's book section of the Garden City Public Library in New York when I was eleven. Finding myself bored, and unloaded onto the library by my concerned, yet clueless father, I stumbled upon a |

brilliantly illustrated book on the war. Within the pages of that thin volume, there was a print that forever etched itself into my memory. It showed a group of young American GIs fighting it out with hidden German forces in some French town, probably St. Malo. The closest GI had turned to stared back out of the pages and onto the reader. His face, grimy and unshaven, seemed to illustrate a generation of Americans (and indeed human beings) who when faced with injustice, had decided to do something about it. That man in the print, seemed to embody everything of the "greatest generation." He seemed to be, as Roosevelt once said, part of a generation that had a "rendezvous with destiny."
Such thinking could all have been terribly romantic or even naive, but when you are a child, I suppose, naivity is a hidden facet of the human condition.. But over the years, my naivity of war somehow transformed into a genuine appreciatoon of the sacrifices borne by our grandfathers. Eventually, I recognized the war for what it truly was: not merely a war, but a global expression fought for freedom, ideals, principles, and maybe even honor - if there can ever be such a thing. Hey, the the least, without the Second World War, this website would probably be another insipid page dedicated to the collective charms of yet another personal site, or God forbid, a blog.
This web site was originally created with the intent to write about campaigns/battles of the Second World War that have not yet received proper online coverage. If you have any questions or information please e-mail me at this address:
